Andréa Saint Onge » Assistant Coach

Andréa St. Onge is a California native from the city of Garden Grove. She started playing roller hockey when she was 7 years old at the local outdoor rink, where she was the only girl playing with the boys. At the age of 11, Andréa wanted to go the next step and tried out for an all-girl ice hockey teamed called the Cal Selects in Huntington Beach, CA. Instantly, she fell in love with the sport. Cal Selects later transformed into the club team, LA Selects, where Andréa played for the next two season. Her sophomore year of high school, she decided to make the switch to the only other all-girl hockey program, the Anaheim Lady Ducks. Andréa's goal was to make it to the next step, which was playing Collegiate NCAA ice hockey. The Lady Ducks did a great job at taking the team to a variety of tournaments and showcases to get the girls exposed to the college scouts.

Andréa played NCAA Division III women's ice hockey for New England College in Henniker, New Hampshire. During her senior year, she was voted team captain by her teammates and coaches. That season she helped lead her team to the NEHC Quarterfinals, where they lost 1-0 to Norwich University. Andréa received her Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology after her four years at NEC in 2016.

After graduation, Andréa went on to become the Assistant Women's Ice Hockey Coach for the start-up program at Post University in Waterbury, Connecticut. While at Post, she also worked as a hockey private lessons instructor for IPH (I Play Harder). She worked with players from every age and a variety of skill levels, trying to help develop their hockey skills and get them to the next level. After two years of working at both Post University and IPH, Andréa was very excited to bring her knowledge and coaching skills to the Boston Shamrocks Hockey Academy.
