Danielle Doherty Takes Over Shamrocks' Bench

The Boston Shamrocks are pleased to announce the hiring of Danielle Doherty (Newton, Mass) as the new head coach of the U19 JWHL team.

“We are very excited to welcome Danielle to the Shamrocks' program as head coach of our top team,” said Shamrocks' owner and GM Bob Rotondo. “A reflection of her five years playing at Boston College, Danielle's coaching style places a strong emphasis on success through player development in a positive teaching environment. We look forward to her leadership as she builds upon the success the Shamrocks have had in moving players to the NCAA ranks.”

“I am very excited to be part of the Shamrocks organization and want to thank Bob Rotondo for this opportunity,” said Doherty. “I am really looking forward to meeting the current players and getting to work on recruiting new players. The level of play in the JWHL is very high, and the league is extremely competitive. I am thrilled to be in a position to help the Shamrocks’ student-athletes elevate their game and achieve their dream of playing college hockey.”

This past season Doherty coached the Walpole Express U19 team. A graduate of Boston College with a bachelor's degree in Education and Human Development and a Masters degree in Special Education. During her career in Chestnut Hill the BC Eagles made four trips to the NCAA Frozen Four, garnered two Beanpot titles, as well as two Hockey East crowns.
