Wilmington, MA -- The Boston Shamrocks are pleased to
announce that defenseman Ally Ensor (Sugar Land, TX)
has committed to play for Williams College next season.
Ally will join fellow Shamrocks skater Drake Hicks on
the Williams Ephs women’s hockey roster. The Ephs
compete in the NESCAC, one of the premier Division III
conferences in the country for both hockey and academics.
This year for the Shamrocks, Ally provided a strong
defensive presence, as well as being a regular on the
power play unit. Coach Cherie Hendrickson says, “Ally
has an excellent slap shot, as well as good skating
skills to go along with her size – both of which
will be assets in college next year. I anticipate that
she will continue to improve and make an impact at the
next level.”
This past weekend the Boston Shamrocks held tryouts
for their under 19 AA team, and are pleased to announce
several signings for next season. Colleen Shouldice,
Marie-Eve Lebeau, and Samantha Honeywell all committed
to join the Shamrocks offensive corps for next season.
In addition, Sydney Collins will add depth to the defense.
Each of these four is expected to contribute to the
team immediately, as well as working hard to adjust
to the higher level of play. There were several other
solid players who attended tryouts, and the coaching
staff expects announcements regarding several new signees
to be imminent. On the goaltending end, the Shamrocks
look forward to having Maureen Bradley (Swampscott,
MA) who emerged as a top goaltender in the JWHL returning
for a post-grad year. The Boston Shamrocks still have
a couple roster spots open, so if you are interested
in joining a full-season team that competes in the top
high school aged league in North America please send
an inquiry to Coach Cherie Hendrickson at cherie@bostonshamrocks.net.
