Shamrocks Welcome New Coaches

The Boston Shamrocks are pleased to announce the hiring of two assistant coaches for the U19 team. Joining Head Coach Josh Hechter on the bench will be Samantha Faber and Lindsay Berman. “I feel we have positioned ourselves, first with the hiring of Josh Hechter, and now with Sam Faber and Lindsay Berman, to really step up our game and be a force in the league,” said Shamrocks’ owner and GM Bob Rotondo. The duo will also assist Head Coach Bob Hanson with the Shamrocks’ U17 Development team.

Samantha Faber, a 2009 graduate of the University of New Hampshire, spent the past year as the Assistant Manager of Hockey Operations at Sportorama Monsey, New York. She was responsible for running their various hockey programs, including coaching their youth clinics.  Coach Faber was a standout for the UNH Wildcats, amassing 77 goals and 112 assists in 143 games. Named Assistant Captain as a senior, she was a four year Hockey East All-Star, Hockey East Rookie of the Year, and a USA Hockey Patty Kazmaier Award (Top College Player) top 10 finalist as a junior. As a member of the 2008 US Women’s National team she captured Gold at the World Championships in Harbin, China, and attended the 2009 Women’s National Festival from which the 2010 US Olympic team was chosen. She was also a member of the 2007, and 2008 US U22 National teams.

Lindsay Berman, joins the Boston Shamrocks while currently completing her degree as part of the five year program at Northeastern University. During her four year career, Berman played both forward and defense, and tallied 23 goals and 39 assists in 134 games. She was named to the Hockey-East All-Star team that competed in an exhibition game against the US Women’s National Team in preparation for the 2010 Olympics. Coach Berman  was also a teammate of Samantha Faber on the 2008 USA U22 National team.
